ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEAMS

The Junior League is a program for boys and girls ages 6-7, using a variety of materials children explore a STEM theme and create an innovative solution to real world problems.

The Jr. League last 8 weeks with a celebration at the end of each season. These are non-competitive leagues and are meant to be an introduction to being on a team and learning how to collaborate together.

Upper Elementary Leagues
Ages 8-10

Students design and build ROVs to tackle missions modeled after scenarios from the workplace.  The competition’s class structure of beginner, intermediate, and advanced complements the education pipeline by providing students with the opportunity to build upon their skills – and the application of those skills – as they engineer increasingly more complex ROVs for increasingly more complex mission tasks.

Students are required to think of themselves as “entrepreneurs” and transform their teams into companies that manufacture, market, and sell “products.”  In addition to engineering their ROVs, the students are required to prepare technical reports, poster displays, and engineering presentations that are delivered to working professionals who serve as competition judge.
